Condition: Good vintage condition with patina and wear consistent with age and use.
The piece is characterized by a heavily worked surface, achieved through hammering that created a pronounced sculptural topography long the exterior of the bowl. The copper has developed variegated patina over time. A perfect example of the American studio art movement.

Artist Biography
Anthony Di Bona was an American metalsmith and sculptor recognized for his contributions to the Brutalist style in metalwork. After studies at the Worcester Art Museum School and service in World War II, he established a studio in Massachusetts. His work is defined by experimental surface texture, deliberate oxidation, and robust, often asymmetrical forms in copper, bronze, and steel. Di Bonaβs work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Worcester Art Museum; and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He exhibited at major institutions, including the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York.
