Vintage Japanese Carved Rock Vessel with Live Edge Wood Base
Vintage Japanese Carved Rock Vessel with Live Edge Wood Base. The vase/vessel is a mix of iron oxide minerals (limonite, goethite, and hematite). The backend of the vessel has a large hematite deposit in a deep brown red hue. The vessel is carved hollow. It floats upright on the base from a perfectly carved slot. In good condition with wear consistent with age.
