Vintage Postmodernist Crackle Glaze Porcelain Double Rim Vessel by Hannelore Fasciszewski, Signed
Vintage Postmodernist Crackle Glaze Porcelain Double Rim Vessel by Hannelore Fasciszewski, Signed
Striking vintage postmodern double rim vessel crafted in thin white porcelain with a crackle glaze. The piece features a double walled construction, each wall has carved openings that are offset to depth and shadow play. Along the seam where the two rims meet, the artist has added her signature spore like sculptural detail, an organic, almost biomorphic accent that she uses in many of her pieces. Signed on the underside. In good condition with wear consistent with age.
About the Artist:
Hannelore Fasciszewski (1928–2024) was a German born American ceramicist and sculptor known for her organic, abstract approach to form. After immigrating to the United States in the postwar era, she developed a style shaped by Surrealism and Bauhaus sensibilities, merged with the expressiveness of American studio ceramics. Her work often explored psychological and natural motifs, resulting in vessels and sculptures that feel simultaneously biological and dreamlike. Fasciszewski exhibited in regional and national craft shows throughout the mid to late 20th century.
