About the Artist:
Hannelore Fasciszewski (1928–2024) was a German born American ceramicist and sculptor celebrated for her exploration of organic abstraction within mid century modernism. After immigrating to the United States in the postwar era, Fasciszewski developed a distinctive style blending European Surrealist and Bauhaus influences with the expressive spontaneity of American studio ceramics. Her work merges natural and psychological motifs, evoking both biological and dreamlike forms. Exhibited in regional and national craft shows, her ceramics remain prized for their tactile surfaces and sculptural inventiveness.
