Hannelore Fasciszewski (1928–2024) was a German born American ceramicist and sculptor celebrated for her exploration of organic abstraction within mid 20th century modernism. After immigrating to the United States in the postwar years, Fasciszewski developed a distinctive style that fused European Surrealist and Bauhaus influences with the spontaneity of American studio ceramics. Her works often merge natural and psychological motifs, evoking both biological and dreamlike forms. Fasciszewski’s ceramics have been exhibited in regional and national craft shows and remain prized for their expressive surfaces and sculptural inventiveness.
