Antique Tramp Art Tabletop Dresser with Mirror - Published in A Legacy in Tramp Art
The piece is constructed in the characteristic chip carved technique and retains its original hinged mirror, porcelain hardware, and decorative paper linings.
Construction & Details:
The case features five drawers: three graduated drawers below and two narrower drawers flanking the mirror base. All are fitted with period white porcelain knobs. The edges have the typical chip carved detailing. The interior of each drawer is lined with the original cigar box print of a woman sitting at a table with fruit (the cigar boxes used for this dresser were called Miranda). The mirror is attached with its original hinges and exhibits a natural patina.
Provenance & Condition:
This dresser is published in Clifford A. Wallach's definitive reference, A Legacy in Tramp Art, and was formerly part of the Buck Carlson Collection. It is presented in very good, untouched condition, with a stable surface patina and wear appropriate to its age.
