This antique folk art lidded box is hand carved from wood with additional pyrography (wood burning) decoration. The top features a dragon motif, with a series of carved eyes encircling the edge of the lid. The sides of the box are decorated with a hand carved zig zag pattern. Evidence of pyrography can be seen on the underside of the lid and the bottom of the box. Areas that feel loose are present but are most likely due to the fitting of the veneer. Condition is good, with wear consistent with age.
