Antique Abstract Hand Carved Wood Remnant/Sculpture. This was from a folk art collection in Maine consisting of hand carved wood objects. It’s interesting in the fact that it’s not definitive if it was to be part of a larger piece, a piece that was discarded in the middle of carving, etc. It hangs between a realist finished piece (maybe a cat or animal sitting) or an abstract finished sculpture (most likely the first explanation, but like to imagine it being the second).
