Antique 19th Century French Academic Study of a Greek Bust, Signed (Charcoal on Woven Paper)
A 19th century French academic study of a classical Greek bust rendered in charcoal on woven paper. The work is from the École des Beaux Arts tradition. The artist’s signature, M. Renaud, appears at the upper right, accompanied by the number “71” in red pencil and an artist’s cypher at lower right. On the reverse, a secondary sketch of a tall vase suggests this sheet was used as a working study within an academic studio context. There is date in the upper right corner. Unframed.

Condition: In used condition with wear consistent with age. Pinholes are present in all four corners, and there are areas of tearing and edge wear. Please refer to photographs for further details.
