An original 1976 collotype reproducing one of Andrew Wyeth’s early preparatory sketches for Christina’s World, offering a rare look into the artist’s creative process behind one of the most iconic images in American art. This work was published by Triton Press for The Metropolitan Museum of Art as part of a limited edition of 300.
This example is numbered 205/300 and is hand signed by Andrew Wyeth in pencil at the lower center, with the edition number in the lower left margin. The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s original blind stamp is present in the lower right margin.
The collotype has been newly framed in a lightweight white washed wood frame with a new archival mat and protected under UV filtering acrylic. Both the print and frame are in excellent condition. The print itself was never removed from the original portfolio.
