Size: 24" x 30" image, framed 33-3/4" x 39"

Jane E. Goldman was born in Dallas, Texas in 1951 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin. Goldman is the co-owner/director of Mixit Print Studio in Somerville, Massachusetts. A nationally recognized painter and printmaker, she has taught at Massachusetts College of Art, the University of California at Los Angeles, Rice University, and Hartford Art School.

Goldman's media include watercolor, oil, intaglio, lithography, relief, screenprint, and terrazzo. "Lyrical realism," based on a combination of free association and direct observation, best describes her style.

Completed in 1999, Goldman designed a public art installation for the Massachusetts Port Authority at Boston's Logan Airport. The theme of the commission is a New England aquatic journey. The design flows over 35,000 square feet of terrazzo floor.

Exhibited widely in the United States and abroad since 1975, Goldman has received grants from the Massachusetts Council on the Arts, MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. The artist has also received resident fellowships from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ballycastle, Ireland, the Oberpfalzer Kunstlerhaus in Schwandorf, Germany, and the Cite des Arts in Paris, France. Private galleries have held solo exhibitions in New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; Washington, D. C.; Dallas, Texas; Madison, Wisconsin; and Seattle, Washington.

Goldman's work is included in the permanent collections of the Bibliotheque Nationale (Paris), Brooklyn Museum, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Fogg Art Museum, Cleveland Museum of Art, Detroit Institute of Arts, San Francisco Art Museum, Smithsonian in DC, and the Library of Congress.
